Cantilever Towers – PASMA course

DUE TO SOCIAL DISTANCING, THIS COURSE WILL BE DELIVERED IN 2 PARTS. THE FIRST PART WILL BE E-LEARNING AND THE SECOND PART WILL BE A PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT. UPON BOOKING WE WILL SEND YOU YOUR LOGIN DETAILS – YOU WILL BE ISSUED A START TIME OF EITHER 8AM OR 12:30PM – YOU MUST COMPLETE E-LEARNING BEFORE YOUR ARRIVAL AT THE CENTRE.

WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM THIS COURSE:

Personnel who will be responsible for the assembly, dismantling, alteration, moving and inspecting of mobile access towers with cantilevers

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

How to safely assemble, use, dismantle and relocate a standard configuration of a mobile access tower with a cantilever, taking into account the principles of counterbalance calculations for the use of kentledge in cantilever applications

Course content: 

  • Legislation
  • Regulations and Guidance affecting working at height with access towers
  • PASMA Code of Practice
  • Product Standards EN 1004:2004 and BS1139 Part 6:2014
  • assembling
  • altering and dismantling towers incorporating current best practice for fall protection
  • inspection of completed mobile access towers with cantilevers and completion of Tower Inspection Records
  • hazards affecting the use of towers with a cantilever

LITERACY, FITNESS & HEALTH:

Since the safe use of mobile towers requires that you consult safety notices and read and thoroughly understand the manufacturer’s instruction manual, literacy and language comprehension are important requirements for any tower user. Similarly, since the assembly and use of mobile access towers can be physically demanding, users should be physically fit and in good health and should, generally, not have problems with eyesight or hearing, heart disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, fear of heights / vertigo, giddiness / difficulty with balance, impaired limb function, alcohol or drug dependence or psychiatric illness.

This course is CITB Levy approved

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

You must hold a current PASMA ‘Towers for Users’ PhotoCard and have a good working knowledge of working at height

A PASMA Certificate and PhotoCard will be issued to successful delegates who complete the theory and practical assessment sessions at the level they attend the course, which has a five year validity period
